Family Support
We are a team of 4 Family Support Worker working across all schools within Ambition Education Trust. The team are:
Amanda Ellison – Lead Family Support Worker
Emma Johansen – Family Support Worker
Kim Burton – Family Support Worker
Jenny Fennell – Family Support Worker
We work with children (usually between 3-18 years old) and their families, where difficulties are being experienced. Family life can be challenging at times, and knowing where to turn for help can be difficult. We work with both the child and their family together to fully understand their challenges and to provide the right guidance and support. We can offer bespoke support to families with any concern they may be facing with their child at home or school. We work together to improve outcomes for children and to remove barriers to learning.
How we work
We work with families in their home and the support could involve meeting parents separately, the child separately and together as a whole family. The support we offer varies from family to family and we can also offer bespoke support. We will work with, and support families across a variety of issues such as; behaviour management, financial issues, domestic violence, mental health, housing, drug and alcohol misuse etc.
How schools refer to us
Schools refer to the Trust Family Support service requesting family support. Parental consent must be given first. Families are not able to
self-refer to the team, but please speak to your school if you feel your family requires support.
