Olympic Inspiration Jodie Williams Visits Wheatfields Infants' and Nursery School

Wheatfields Infants' and Nursery School  were thrilled to welcome an extraordinarily special guest: Team GB Olympic athlete Jodie Williams! It was an unforgettable, high-energy day that left all the children and staff members feeling deeply inspired.

The day kicked off with an incredible fitness circuit organised by Jodie. From Nursery to Year 2 , everybody took part, pushing their limits and experiencing firsthand the kind of dedication it takes to train like an elite athlete. The atmosphere was electric, filled with determination, and plenty of smiles. Following the circuit children had a special assembly where Jodie shared her remarkable life story. Jodie’s athletic journey is legendary: she has competed in 3 Commonwealth Games, and is a 3-time Olympian.

Jodie’s core message to our school was simple yet profound: Define your own success. Success isn't just about the gold medals; it's about the grit to keep going when things don't go to plan. We want to say a massive thank you to Jodie for sharing her time, her energy, and her invaluable life lessons with us. We are all ready to keep moving and keep believing!

Thank you so much to everyone who sponsored the children to take part in the fitness circuit. We have currently raised £4,706 an amazing amount for the school aswell as supporting athletes and para-athletes. We are so grateful for your generosity which will enable us to buy some fantastic new sports equipment in school - Thank you !
